EH9 in Barcelona: Weddings Abroad
At EH9 | Espresso, we derive immense joy from hearing about the central role that Coffee shops play in our customers lives. We have always been aware of the place for third spaces in communities, but it is so powerful to see how this manifests on an anecdotal level. We have been invited along to make coffee at serval of our customers weddings since opening, and we’ve heard amazing stories about the connections and love that fosters in coffee shops. This is not something that we have ever marketed, but we are so busy with requests for EH9 to attend weddings. This doesn’t come as a surprise to us now. People meet in coffee shops, not pubs now and you heard it here first. These spaces mean a lot people.
We recently experienced a couple who took this commitment to our little coffee shop to the next level, when Fraser was hired to serve coffee at our regular customers beautiful wedding in Barcelona! What an honour. When I asked them why they were going to such lengths, they told me that they wanted to ensure that they had a little taste of home, even when away at an international wedding venue.
The warmth, hospitality, and love shown to us during this period were genuinely heart-warming. We want to express how truly beautiful the entire experience was in the Hills of Moia, Spain. Not only did we have the privilege of being part of the wedding celebration, but we also had the opportunity to explore the city and indulge in first-hand international coffee tasting, with a notable visit to Three Marks and Nomad Coffee Roasters. Keep an eye out for these guys on the retail/guest spots soon. This surreal experience was a culmination of our team's hard work over the past few years, and we are incredibly grateful for the support we have received both from the wedding venue “this must be the place” and from “Nomad Coffee Roasters’ who provided the equipment for Fraser to use on the day.
